Here at Support a Sport, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change. SAS was created to give all athletes no matter their abilities the opportunity to play the sports they love just like any other child. All children should be given different opportunities to participate in activities in their community.
Meet our Founders
Tyler and Sarah Damato
Sarah has been a Special Education teacher for 10 years working with students with all abilities from kindergarten to age 21. She coaches field hockey and lacrosse at Springfield High School and also works with youth lacrosse players in the community. Growing up with a sister with intellectual disabilities and autism, her passion has always been impacting the lives of those with special needs and educating those around her. Tyler and Sarah met at Old Dominion University where she played lacrosse and he played football. Tyler has worked with youth ages 5 to 12 and their families helping children who have difficulty managing their behavior at home and in the classroom. They reside in Springfield with their three daughters.
